CONTENT

The bill would amend the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to transfer, for fiscal year (FY) 2019-20 only, $2.0 million from the Staff Account of the Solid Waste Management Fund to the State General Fund, and $4.0 million from the Scrap Tire Regulatory Fund to the State General Fund.

MCL 324.11550 & 324.16908

FISCAL IMPACT

The bill would transfer a total of $6.0 million to the State General Fund as part of the effort to balance the State budget for FY 2019-20. As of September 1, 2020, the Staff Account of the Solid Waste Management Fund had a fund balance of $7.0 million, and the Scrap Tire Regulatory Fund had a balance of $13.8 million. These balances are sufficient to facilitate the transfers contained in the bill.
