A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 13527.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 13527. (1) A person that provides a radiography service
to a patient in this state, including, but not limited to, a
mammography service, shall provide notification to the patient on
the availability of a protective guard.
(2) As used in this section, "protective guard" means a shield
that is placed on the patient to protect a portion of the patient's
body that is not the subject of radiography from exposure to
ionizing radiation. Protective guard includes, but is not limited
to, a thyroid shield.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
