CONTENT
House Bill 5884 would repeal Public Act 177 of 1925, which governs the construction, maintenance, and operation of hospitals and sanatoriums that treat tuberculosis.
House Bill 5885 would amend the Municipal Health Facilities and Corporations Act to delete a reference to Public Act 177 from a provision permitting local government to levy taxes for the operation of hospitals and sanitariums that treat tuberculosis.
House Bill 5886 would amend Public Act 109 of 1945, which permits county boards of supervisors to operate hospitals and other institutions that treat contagious and infectious diseases, to delete a reference to Public Act 177 from a provision concerning the scope of Public Act 109.
House Bill 5887 would amend Public Act 350 of 1913, which permits county boards of supervisors to operate public hospitals that treat contagious and infectious diseases, to delete references to Public Act 177 from a provision concerning the funding of the hospitals.
House Bill 5888 would amend the Social Welfare Act to delete a reference to Public 177 from a provision permitting inpatient medical treatment for an individual with tuberculosis.

FISCAL IMPACT
The bills would have no fiscal impact on State or local government. There are no State or local publicly funded facilities established for the purpose of long-term treatment and housing of people with tuberculosis.
