“Dear Lord, heavenly Father, we pause to give You thanks and praise. We thank You for the opportunity that You have given us, to do the peoples’ work. We thank You for being present with us in this chamber today, as we do that work.
Lord I pray for the members of this body. Might You give each of us a sliver of Your grace, patience and understanding in our dealings with each other.
As we celebrate the holiday season, I pray for peace across our state, our nation, and Your world. May all of Your people be free to celebrate and worship without fear for their safety.
I pray for our servicemen and women stationed around the world. Please provide safety and comfort to them and their families, as their service may prevent them from celebrating the holidays together.
All of this I pray in the name of Your son Jesus Christ, Amen.”
