SENATE BILL No. 286

 

 

March 22, 2011, Introduced by Senators JOHNSON, ANDERSON, HUNTER, WHITMER, YOUNG, BIEDA, WARREN, HOPGOOD, HOOD, GREGORY, SMITH and GLEASON and referred to the Committee on Economic Development.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1965 PA 166, entitled

 

"An act to require prevailing wages and fringe benefits on state

projects; to establish the requirements and responsibilities of

contracting agents and bidders; and to prescribe penalties,"

 

(MCL 408.551 to 408.558) by adding section 6a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 6a. The department of energy, labor, and economic growth

 

shall establish and maintain on its wage and hour website a

 

database, accessible by the public, with information concerning

 

closed investigations of claims that confirmed a violation of this

 

act. The data shall be grouped by the violation type: failure to

 

provide records, contractor violation unpaid, or contractor

 

violation paid. Each grouping shall include all of the following

 

information for each employer:


 

     (a) Name and address of the employer.

 

     (b) Violation claim number.

 

     (c) Date the claim investigation was closed.

 

     (d) Number of violations for the violation type.
