     A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled

"Michigan vehicle code,"

by amending section 20a (MCL 257.20a), as added by 1996 PA 404.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

     Sec. 20a. "Historic vehicle" means a vehicle which that is

over 25 years old, and which that is owned solely as a collector's

item and for participation in club activities, exhibitions, tours,

parades, and similar uses, including mechanical testing, but is not

used for general transportation. For purposes of this section, use

of the vehicle during the month of August in each year is

considered an exhibition.
