Living one day at a time;

Enjoying one moment at a time;

Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this sinful world

These were wonderful young people who participated in this competition, as well as some wonderful teachers who were involved in that. When I wake up every day—and I think most of us do too—I am proud to be an American and proud to be a citizen of this state and this very moving presentation and ceremony that I was involved with this weekend, involving Voice of Democracy winners and Patriot Pen winners, as well as Teacher of the Year participants.
