A bill to amend 1972 PA 230, entitled
"Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act,"
(MCL 125.1501 to 125.1531) by adding section 4g.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 4g. (1) Beginning 1 year after the effective date of the
amendatory act that added this section, the owner of a building in
which a pet shop is operated shall install a fire suppression
system that complies with the certification standards contained in
rules adopted under the fire prevention code, 1941 PA 207, MCL 29.1
to 29.33.
(2) As used in this section:
(a) "Animal" means a mammal, except rodents and livestock as
defined in section 1 of 1937 PA 284, MCL 287.121.
(b) "Pet shop" means a place where animals are sold or offered
for sale, exchange, or transfer.
