SUBSTITUTE FOR

HOUSE BILL NO. 4800

     A bill to amend 1943 PA 240, entitled

"State employees' retirement act,"

(MCL 38.1 to 38.69) by adding section 68c.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

     Sec. 68c. Beginning on the effective date of the amendatory

act that added this section, a retirant who is receiving a

retirement allowance under this act and is reemployed by this state

directly or indirectly, including, but not limited to, reemployment

on or after the effective date of the amendatory act that added

this section through contractual arrangement with other parties,

shall have his or her retirement allowance payments suspended

during the period of reemployment.

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect

unless House Bill No. 4500 of the 94th Legislature is enacted into

law.
