A bill to authorize the administration of a health savings
account plan for certain state employees; to provide for its
creation and operation; and to prescribe powers and duties of
certain state officers and agencies.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 1. (1) Beginning October 1, 2005, the department of civil
service may implement and administer a health savings account plan
for certain state employees. The plan, if implemented, shall be
established by resolution by the state civil service commission.
The resolution shall set forth the purpose, eligibility
requirements, membership, amount of deductibles, qualifications,
and administration of the plan.
(2) As used in this act, "health savings account plan" or
"plan" means a health savings account that complies with section 22
of the internal revenue code, 26 USC 22.
