ENROLLED HOUSE BILL No. 5641

AN ACT to amend 1851 PA 156, entitled "An act to define the powers and duties of the county boards of commissioners of the several counties, and to confer upon them certain local, administrative and legislative powers; and to prescribe penalties for the violation of the provisions of this act," by amending section 17 (MCL 46.17); and to repeal acts and parts of acts.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

Sec. 17. The county seat may be relocated to a new location if the removal and new location are approved by a 2/3vote of the elected county board of commissioners and by the majority of the qualified electors within the county. The election required under this section shall be conducted under the Michigan election law, 1954 PA 116, MCL 168.1 to 168.992.

Enacting section 1. Sections 18 and 19 of 1851 PA 156, MCL 46.18 and 46.19, are repealed.

This act is ordered to take immediate effect.
