A bill to amend 1978 PA 105, entitled
"An act to provide grants to students enrolled in independent
nonprofit institutions of higher learning; and to provide for the
promulgation of rules,"
by amending section 4 (MCL 390.1274).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 4. A student is eligible for a grant if the student
2 meets all of the following criteria:
3 (a) The student is enrolled as a full-time or part-time
4 student at an eligible college or university as specified in
5 section 2. In order to be eligible for a grant, a part-time
6 student must be enrolled in at least a one-half time course of
7 study as defined by the authority.
8 (b) The student is
not enrolled in a program of study
9 leading to a degree in
theology or divinity.
10 (b) (c) The
student has resided in this state continuously
1 for the preceding 12 months and is not considered a resident of
2 any other state.
3 (c) (d) The
student is making satisfactory academic
4 progress as defined by the college or university in which the
5 student is enrolled.
