A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 5c.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 5c. The family independence agency shall not refuse to
2 issue a license under this act to a child placing agency based
3 solely on the child placing agency's objection to performing,
4 assisting, counseling, recommending, facilitating, referring, or
5 participating in a placement that violates the child placing
6 agency's written religious or moral convictions or policies.
