A bill to provide for the transfer between state departments
of certain state property in Ingham and Clinton counties.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 1. The state administrative board, on behalf of the
2 state, may transfer without consideration from the department of
3 management and budget to the department of military and veterans
4 affairs a parcel of land in Lansing township in Ingham county and
5 DeWitt township in Clinton county, Michigan, more specifically
6 described as follows:
7 A parcel of land in the SE 1/4 of section 32, T5N, R2W, DeWitt
8 Township, Clinton County, Michigan and the NE 1/4 of section 5,
9 T4N, R2W, Lansing Township, Ingham County, Michigan and more
10 particularly described as commencing at the S 1/4 corner of said
11 section 32; thence N89º27'29"E 6.45 feet, on the south line of
12 said section 32 to the N 1/4 corner of section 5, T4N, R2W,
1 Lansing Township, Clinton County, Michigan; thence S89º59'49"E
2 632.44 feet, on the south line of said section 32 to the point of
3 beginning of this description; thence N00º06'02"W 22.57 feet;
4 thence S89º59'49"E 647.06 feet; to the west line of Martin Luther
5 King Jr. Boulevard; thence S00º59'49"E 22.57 feet, to the south
6 line of said section 32; thence S00º28'14"W 1107.38 feet, on said
7 west line; thence N89º38'54"W 470.00 feet; thence N47º25'08"W
8 65.73 feet; thence N00º00'11"E 170.00 feet; thence N89º59'49"W
9 120.00 feet; thence N00º00'11"E 890.00 feet, to the point of
10 beginning, containing 16.03 acres.
11 Sec. 2. For purposes of the transfer authorized by this
12 act, the property description in section 1 is approximate and
13 subject to possible adjustment by a professional survey conducted
14 by the department of management and budget.
15 Sec. 3. The transfer of property authorized by this act
16 shall be effective when approved by a resolution of the state
17 administrative board. The department of military and veterans
18 affairs shall assume full responsibility for the property
19 transferred from the date of transfer.
20 Sec. 4. All documents regarding the transfer of property
21 under this act shall be prepared and approved by the attorney
22 general.
23 Sec. 5. The department of management and budget is
24 responsible for coordinating and implementing the transfer of
25 property under this act, but any survey costs or transaction
26 closing costs incurred by the department of management and budget
27 in doing so shall be reimbursed by the department of military and
1 veterans affairs.
