A bill to amend 1976 PA 228, entitled
"The legislative merit award program act,"
by amending section 4 (MCL 390.1304), as amended by 1980 PA 386.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 4. A person shall
be is eligible for a scholarship
2 award if the person meets all of the following qualifications:
3 (a) Has resided in this state continuously for the preceding
4 12 months and is not considered a resident of any other state.
5 (b) Has not graduated from high school at the time of the
6 scholarship examination.
7 (c) Enrolls in a recognized postsecondary educational
8 institution within 4 years after graduation from high school.
9 and is not enrolled
in a program of study leading to a degree in
10 theology, divinity, or
religious education.
