                                                                             A bill to amend 1893 PA 206, entitled                                             

"The general property tax act,"                                             

(MCL 211.1 to 211.157) by adding section 52a.                               

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

1   Sec. 52a.  If a local tax collecting unit has distributed                   

2   taxes collected under this act to a local taxing unit or to the             

3   state treasurer, upon request by the local tax collecting unit,             

4   that local taxing unit or the state treasurer shall return to the           

5   local tax collecting unit an amount erroneously collected or an             

6   amount required to be returned by court order in a bankruptcy               

7   proceeding [filed after December 31, 1999].
