FISCAL IMPACT
The bill would have no fiscal impact on the State and an indeterminate fiscal impact on local government. The Mackinac Bridge Authority estimates that approximately 30 motorists each year attempt to evade payment of the toll. Local government would incur the cost of probation or incarceration in a local facility. Public libraries would receive any additional penal fine revenue.
