A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6046 (H-1) AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE
The bill would amend the Stille-DeRossett-Hale Single State Construction Code Act to require the director of the Department of Labor and Economic Growth to make Michigan-specific codes—building, residential, plumbing, mechanical, uniform energy, and rehabilitation—available to the general public in a printed, electronic, or other form for at least 60 days before enforcing the code. The codes would have to be available in a form that does not require the user to purchase additional documents or data in order to have an updated complete version of those codes.
