A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5977 AS INTRODUCED 6-8-04
House Bill 5977 would amend the State Aid to Public Libraries Act to specify that an existing library system serving over 750,000 people could petition the Department of History, Arts, and Libraries to be designated as a cooperative library board. Currently this provision of the law requires the existing system to serve over one million people.
