Complete to 1-29-04

A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5134 AS INTRODUCED 10-07-04

The bill would add a new section to the Public Health Code to require the use of lasers for dermatological purposes to be done only under a physician’s direct supervision.  The bill would not apply to a licensed physician.  Under the bill, a licensee, registrant, or other individual could not perform any procedure using a laser for dermatological purposes unless the procedure was performed under the direct supervision of a licensed physician.  The Department of Community Health or a board could promulgate rules to further prohibit or restrict the use of lasers.
