A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4679 AS INTRODUCED 5-13-03

House Bill 4679 would amend the General Property Tax Act to provide a property tax exemption for wetlands.

The bill specifies that property for which a permit for a use or development under part 303 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act had been denied, or property that had been determined by the Department of Natural Resources to be a wetland in a written determination, or that had been designated as a wetland in a final inventory under part 303, would be exempt from the collection of taxes under the General Property Tax Act.
