A bill to amend 1966 PA 225, entitled "Carnival-amusement safety act of 1966," by amending section 17 (MCL 408.667), as amended by 2000 PA 346. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 17. (1) A temporary cessation of operations of a 2 carnival-amusement ride may be ordered by the director when the 3 inspection of the ride has been impeded, obstructed or interfered 4 with. The order to cease operations shall remain in effect until 5 an inspection has been made and the ride has been found safe for 6 use. 7 (2) Except for the late payment of fees as provided in sec- 8 tion 8(2), and except as provided in subsection (3), a person 9 who violates this act is guilty of a misdemeanor.
