A SUMMARY OF HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION A AS INTRODUCED 1-25-01
The joint resolution would amend Article IV, Section 13 of the state constitution, which pertains to the times of convening of the legislature, to specify that beginning in 2003 and every year afterwards, the legislature would meet for not more than 90 consecutive days, except when called to convene on "extraordinary occasions" by the unanimous consent of the majority and minority leaders of each house of the legislature. The amendment would be submitted to the people of the state.
