A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6141 AS INTRODUCED 5-29-02

House Bill 6141 would amend the Michigan Employment Security Act to specify than an individual would be disqualified from receiving unemployment insurance benefits if he or she were receiving commission compensation. As used in this subdivision of the act, "commission" would mean compensation accruing to a sales representative for payment, by a principal, the rate of which is expressed as a percentage of the amount of orders or sales, or as a percentage of the dollar amount of profits.
