A bill to amend 1968 PA 39, entitled "Michigan food law of 1968," by amending section 24 (MCL 289.724). THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 24. (1) The department or its duly authorized agent 2 shall have free access at all reasonable hours to any A facto- 3 ry, warehouse, or establishment in which foods are FOOD IS man- 4 ufactured, processed, packed, or held for introduction into com- 5 merce, or sold to the consuming public, or to enter any A vehi- 6 cle being used to transport or hold such foods FOOD in com- 7 merce, for the purpose of inspecting such THE factory, ware- 8 house, establishment, or vehicle to determine if any of the pro- 9 visions of this act are IS being violated, and to secure 10 samples or specimens of any A SAMPLE OR SPECIMEN OF food after 11 paying or offering to pay for such THE sample OR SPECIMEN. The 00724'99 * DAM 2 1 department may make examinations of samples EXAMINE A SAMPLE OR 2 SPECIMEN secured under the provisions of this section to deter- 3 mine whether or not any provision of this act is being 4 violated. 5 (2) A RETAIL FOOD ESTABLISHMENT SHALL MAKE AVAILABLE TO A 6 CONSUMER AT THE MANAGER'S STATION A COMPLETE COPY OF THE 7 ESTABLISHMENT'S MOST RECENT INSPECTION REPORT FROM THE 8 DEPARTMENT. THE RETAIL FOOD ESTABLISHMENT SHALL CONSPICUOUSLY 9 POST NEAR EACH CUSTOMER ENTRANCE A NOTICE INFORMING CONSUMERS 10 THAT A COPY OF THE INSPECTION REPORT IS AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW AT 11 THE MANAGER'S STATION. 12 (3) THE DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AND INDUSTRY SERVICES SHALL 13 MAKE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC ON THE INTERNET THE MOST RECENT 14 INSPECTION REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT FOR EACH RETAIL FOOD 15 ESTABLISHMENT. 00724'99 * Final page.
