A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5577 AS INTRODUCED 4-12-00

House Bill 5577 would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code to specify that a vehicle registration issued by the secretary of state would expire on the last day of the owner's birth month, unless another expiration date is provided for under the act. Currently a vehicle registration expires on the owner's birthday. Further, if when making application the owner's next birthday is at least six months but not more than 12 months in the future, the owner would receive a registration valid until the last day of the owner's next birth month, rather than his or her next birthday.
