HOUSE BILL No. 5169

        A bill to amend 1923 PA 161, entitled

   "An act to provide for the establishment of county sinking funds
   and to create a county sinking fund commission, to prescribe the
   powers and duties thereof, and to repeal all acts and parts of
   acts contravening the provisions of this act,"

   (MCL 141.31 to 141.39) by amending the title and by adding sec-

   tion 10.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1                                  TITLE

 2         An act to provide for the establishment of county sinking

 3    funds and to create a county sinking fund commission;  ,  to pre-

 4    scribe the powers and duties thereof;  ,  TO PRESCRIBE PENALTIES

 5    AND PROVIDE REMEDIES; and to repeal all acts and parts of acts

 6    contravening the provisions of this act.

 7         SEC. 10.  A PETITION UNDER SECTION 9, INCLUDING THE

 8    CIRCULATION AND SIGNING OF THE PETITION, IS SUBJECT TO SECTION

 2    PERSON WHO VIOLATES A PROVISION OF THE MICHIGAN ELECTION LAW,

 3    1954 PA 116, MCL 168.1 TO 168.992, APPLICABLE TO A PETITION

 4    DESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION IS SUBJECT TO THE PENALTIES PRESCRIBED

 5    FOR THAT VIOLATION IN THE MICHIGAN ELECTION LAW, 1954 PA 116, MCL

 6    168.1 TO 168.992.

 7         Enacting section 1.  This amendatory act does not take

 8    effect unless Senate Bill No. _____ or House Bill No. _____

 9    (request no. 02378'97) of the 89th Legislature is enacted into
