A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6035 AS INTRODUCED 9-15-98

House Bill 6035 would amend the State School Aid Act to require that an individual or private entity reimburse the state for memberships, if pupils for whom it has a contractual instructional agreement (a contract it has entered into with a school district), are disallowed by the Department of Education. Under the bill, the full reimbursement would be deposited in the state school aid fund. If the district were obligated to repay state school aid or suffered a deduction in its school aid because memberships were disallowed, the reimbursement would be applied to the district's school aid as an offset.
